The aim of the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit is to encourage sustainability in the beauty industry by bringing together key stake-holders and debate these major issues in a high-level forum. The Sustainable Cosmetics Summit is the only conference on the green beauty industry that is carbon neutral.
The European edition of the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit took place in Paris on 28-30th November 2011. Key discussions centred on greenwashing and false marketing claims, food & cosmetics convergence, growing use of plant-based feedstock, green formulations and distribution innovations. The previous edition of the North American summit drew to a successful close in New York City in May 2011, bringing together over 180 executives from across the beauty industry. Greater authenticity and efficacy were the key messages from the summit, whilst the opening keynote highlighted the importance of tackling sustainability with novel approaches.
