The Sustainable Cosmetics Summit is a series of international summits that focuses on the leading issues the beauty industry faces concerning sustainability, natural, organic, fair trade and ecological products. The aim of the summit is to encourage sustainability in the beauty industry by bringing together key stake-holders and debate these major issues in a high-level forum.
The North American edition of this executive summit will take place in New York, 17-19th May 2012. The next Asia-Pacific edition of this executive summit will take place in Hong Kong, 12-13th November 2012, whilst the European edition will be hosted in Paris on 28-30th November 2012. Like previous editions, they will bring together key stake-holders in the beauty industry that include cosmetic manufacturers, ingredient & raw material suppliers, retailers & distributors, industry organisations & certification agencies, researchers & academics, investors, etc. Only the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit brings together senior executives from across the beauty industry on a regular basis at international locations.
Organized by Organic Monitor, the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit is a carbon neutral event. The carbon footprint of each summit is determined by calculating the carbon and greenhouses gases. Organic Monitor offsets these emissions by investing in soil composting projects.
Since its launch in 2009, the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit has donated a share of its profits to charities that encourage sustainable development. It is the first - and remains the only - summit on the natural beauty industry that gives a share of its profits to charitable causes.
