Changing the face of the beauty industry by sustainable development

The upcoming Asia-Pacific edition of the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit will tackle environmental impacts, natural ingredients, and marketing best-practices. What practical steps can cosmetic and ingredients firms take to reduce their environmental impacts? What are best-practices in measuring carbon, water and energy footprints? How can cosmetic brands innovate using natural ingredients? With growing incidence or ingredient fraud, how can such risks be mitigated? The 4th Asia-Pacific edition of the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit will be once again hosted in Hong Kong on 10-11 November. This new edition comprises two interactive workshops and three conference sessions. Organised by Organic Monitor, the aim of the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit is to encourage sustainability in the beauty industry by bringing together key stake-holders and debate key issues in a high-level forum. The European edition of this international series of summits will take place in Paris on 24-26 November.

About 160 senior executives from the beauty industry convened in Paris at the previous European edition of the Sustainable Cosmetics Summit on 21-23rd October 2013. This edition focused on green formulations, distribution innovations and sustainable packaging. An interactive workshop discussed technical issues involved with using green emulsifiers, surfactants and emollients.
